OVERVIEW
The Edimax BR-6304Wg wireless 802.11b/g broadband router is a clever 5-in-1 device that combines all the functionality of a router, a 10/100Mbps Ethernet switch, a wireless 802.11b/g access point, an advanced firewall and a secure Virtual Private Network (VPN) server to allow remote and mobile users access to the network. The BR-6304Wg allows multiple machines access to the Internet whilst still providing smooth access and additional security features.
*You need an Ethernet (RJ45) cable modem or an Ethernet (RJ45) ADSL modem. BR-6204Wg cannot connect with a USB ADSL modem.
The Edimax BR-6304Wg gives you additional functionality to setup and run a secure home office or small business network. It provides the ability to set-up multiple servers in the home or office to run and protect web access, email etc. By setting up a Virtual Private Network (VPN), you and co-workers can access your home office/small business remotely with business-class security on all your files and downloads.
The BR-6304Wg gives you much flexibility to regulate the use of the Internet within your home or office network such as restricting web access as well as blocking web addresses within the network.
Virtual Private Network (VPN) function
With the IPSec VPN gateway function, the BR-6304Wg allows you to set up a secure VPN to allow up to 10 authorised users access to your network. The BR-6304Wg supports MD5 and SHA1 authentication, 3DES and AES encryption.
Internet Connection Sharing
With four Ethernet ports, the BR-6304Wg enables both wired PCs and wireless PCs to share the super-fast broadband (cable or xDSL) Internet connection.
IP Sharing
The NAT/NAPT function lets you share the broadband connection to all connected PCs (up to 253 users). Acting as a DHCP server, the BR-6304Wg automatically assigns IP addresses to the connected PCs.
54Mbps Wireless Access Point
The high speed 54Mbps IEEE 802.11g wireless access point enables IEEE 802.11g and 802.11b wireless client devices access to your network through this router.
Supports UPnP Special Applications
The BR-6304Wg provides extra functions to enjoy additional resources on the Internet. The Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) function allows you to experience applications like Messenger and gaming without any set-up hassles.The ports forwarding, ports triggering and ports mapping functions allow users to use VoIP, IPcam, and IPTV at home to maximise your internet connection.
Anti-DoS SPI Firewall
The SPI (Stateful Packet Inspection) firewall protects your connected PCs from illegal access and many kinds of Denial of Service (DoS) attacks from the Internet. All such intrusions are logged for your reference. It also provides Internet access control function which defines who, where, when and how access can be obtained.
Virtual Server and DMZ
The virtual server and DMZ functions let you setup internal servers (e.g. mail server) on the network and access them remotely via the Internet.
