Wireless Connectivity

The WG102 ProSafe™ wireless access point provides industry-standard access to network-attached corporate resources, email and the Internet. The WG102 is fully compatible with the IEEE 802.11g wireless standard, it can be set to 54 Mbps or dynamic 108 Mbps for even faster, extended wire-free connectivity. This business-class wireless AP also delivers functionality for point-to-point and point-multi-point bridging and repeater modes to extend your wireless capability or join a wired Ethernet network. The featured 19 dBm transmits power and a high gain 5 dBi omni-directional antenna ensures optimal range and throughput. Support for NETGEAR’s ProSafe™ antennas for expanded wireless capacity and range.

Management & Power over Ethernet (PoE)

Integrated 802.3af-based Power over Ethernet support means that there is no need to locate the WG102 close to an electrical power output or trail cables across the office floor: Power can be transmitted over the Ethernet network instead. The WG102 also supports SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) and associated network management software (including NETGEAR’s NMS100). Support for all popular 802.1x port-based authentications is available.
